Letter from the 3/5 Mom – My son joined the 3/5 in December of 2011. He shared with me the history of the 3/5 and educated me on the significance of the Darkhorse. I learned of the incredible bravery and sacrifices of our 3/5 Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. I was telling good friend, Debra Ferrari, what my son was doing and about his new home with the 3/5. When I told her about the Darkhorse and the Marines who were killed she was so incredibly touched. Debra is an Equine painter and she asked if she could paint a tribute to the 3/5. She created this gorgeous tribute called the “Darkhorse 3/5 Battalion”. I believe she captured not only the strength of the Battalion, but also the heart and soul of the Darkhorse.
We proudly display this painting in our home and by popular demand created these posters to share with you. We shall Never Forget the ultimate sacrifice of our brave Marines and will continue to stand by our Wounded Warriors. The proceeds of this beautiful poster go to The Honor Group to continue their mission of bringing education and awareness to our schools about the needs of our military veterans.
