2012 BFV SoCal at Westlake High School
The following week after the successful NorCal event, we traveled to Westlake Village to stage a fantastic football invitation. Granite Bay and Del Oro both traveled along with Oakdale and Windsor HS’s to compete against Southern California powerhouses. The campus had a festival-like atmosphere with a carnival booth and a military presence. The crowds came and were entertained and educated as well from the Marines, Army and National Guard.
Friday Night found Del Oro in a rematch from 2011 playing Westlake HS. This year proved as entertaining and hard-fought as the previous year going into overtime again.
Saturday had USA Midget youth teams from the local area playing teams who came down from Northern California. The next Varsity game was Upland playing Windsor then Oceanside vs Oakdale. The finale pitted Granite Bay vs Oaks Christian. The crowds witnessed a vintage airplane precision demonstration along with a parachute squad jumping into the stadium to deliver the game.
