The 2016 NorCal Honor Bowl was a HomeTown event held at Del Oro High School in an SFL matchup between the visiting Oak Ridge Trojans and Del Oro Golden Eagles. Before the game US Marines Corps. Cpl. Marcus Chischilly and SSgt. Charlie Linville provided classic Moto talks to each team in their respective locker rooms, talking about their time serving in Afghanistan in 2010 with the famous 3rd Battalion 5th Marines in Sangin – Helmand Province. Chischilly is a gold medal winner in the Invictus Games as well as part of the National wheel chair basketball Gold medal winners. Linville is credited for being the first US Wounded Vet to scale Mt. Everest. Classic that Linville was quoeted the day prior to say “It really wasn’t that tough!”
A huge thank you to Placer County Sheriffs and Fire, The Patriot Guard Riders and all of the Gold Star parents who came to educate the crowds about respect, patriotism and the love of our Military and first responders.
