The Honor Bowl came to Southern California for the first time and was presented by the U-T San Diego. From September 6-7, there were 6 football games. The main game on Friday pitted Oceanside hosting Serra Gardena which was a game that the area hoped to see in 2012 So Cal DII playoffs but it never happened. Serra went on the represent So Cal in the CIF State game beating Oakdale to win their 4th state crown. Saturday had Del Oro traveling from Sacramento to play Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks. The next game was Oaks Christian of Westlake Village coming in to play Upland of the Inland Empire. The finale was an amazing game between St Bonaventure of Oxnard playing Corona Centennial. Before each of the 8pm games Friday and Saturday the crowds were entertained with Former Navy Seals parachuting the game balls, U.S. Marine Corp. Military Color Guards and Marching Bands and a Military Expo. The result was a great weekend of football and a lasting effect on all teams who participated.
