Game Three

September 7, 2024  1:00 pm

Saturday, September 7 @ 1:00 pm
Classical Academy (Escondido, CA) vs Bonita Vista (Chula Vista, CA)

The first game on September 7 will have the second Girls Flag Football game in The Honor Bowl! This matchup will have the ranked #1 vs #2 San Diego as well as nationally #10 vs #20 programs and it will be a well-coached and played game.

Defending California San Diego DII Champion Classical Academy travels in from Escondido – San Diego North County – to play in their first Honor Bowls! The Caimans were ranked #20 Nationally in 2023 and as Head Coach stated when he found out his team was playing in the Honor Bowl: “We’ve been training for this!’ HC Daniel Salas wants to improve his 2024 record where in 2023 the Caimans went 17-2! Junior QB Isabella Pap had 4009 passing yards with 29 TDs and will look to her senior WR Madison Coger (#1 Nationally) had 2417 receiving yards and 22 TDs. Senior WR Rhiana Gurani will want to add to her junior stats of 635 receiving yards and 2TDs along with Junior RB Myla Robertson 308 rushing yards and 4TDs. Robertson also accumulated 22 sacks (#21 Nation). Junior LB Serena De Rosa should also be a stopper on defense where she 62 tackles and 15 sacks.

Bonita Vista travels up to San Diego from Chula Vista and Head Coach Tristan Lamb is so pleased to partake in all of the reasons why The Honor Bowl is considered ‘more than just a football game!’ Offensively, RBs Jamiya Valenciano and Sofia Garay will bring it for the Barons. At WR Layla Schoen will be a Sophomore and should be a target for the Barons in ’24. Defensively 10th grader R Khamyah Rockett will hope to repeat with her 10 sacks in the ’23 season.
