The first game on Saturday, September 2 will be a special one! For the first time, The Honor Bowl has a team traveling from Texas to play in the showcase. This will be a great game featuring also a strong local San Diego squad!

University City, a San Diego DIII program is pleased to be part of the 2023 SoCal Honor Bowl. Five of the coaching staff are military veterans where they daily instill the importance of brotherhood – a concept that has so many parallel traits to football. Head Coach Paul Lawerence wants to maintain the level of competitive play as his Centurions had a stellar 2022 season winning league, Sections, and SoCal Championship, and was a finalist in the CIF State game. So QB Quentyn Demara will lead the Centurions on offense whereas a backup had 793 passing yards with 11 TDs. Junior WR Dreyden Garner will be a prime aerial target, along with Junior RB Samuel Harris getting quality ground yards.
