Perry (Gilbert, AZ) vs Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA)

The second game on Saturday, September 7 will be a true test for both teams! This will be the first time for both Perry and Granite Hills to experience why The Honor Bowl is ‘more than just a football game!’

Perry Head Coach Joseph Ortiz loved the idea when approached to experience The Honor Bowl. He was aware of so many other Arizona teams that have traveled to San Diego and he wanted his Pumas to be part of the 2024 event! Senior QB Diesel Taylor should have another explosive season – in ’23 Taylor passed for 2296 yards and 29 TDs and rushed for 2 more. Senior WR Hayden Moon brought in 476 receiving yards with 5 TDs!  Senior OLB Jackson Sands and Senior MLB Nate Lauritzen jr will continue their defensive stops! Perry HS is so proud that 49erQB Brock Purdy is a Pride Graduate but want to prove they are more than just that fact!

Granite Hills travels in from El Cajon to play in their first Honor Bowl and Head Coach Kellan Coobs and so glad it worked out! The Eagles had a stellar 2023 season – winning section and representing San Diego in the SoCal playoffs and finished with a 12-1 record. Sophomore QB Zachary Benitez, who had 2281 passing yards with 23 TDs and rushed for 98 yards and 3 TDs will lead his Eagles in 2024! Seniors RB Max Turner (1138 rushing yards 17 TDs 207 receiving with 2 TDs) and Pablo Jackson (798 rushing yards 12 TDs) will be a force on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, Junior DT Kuba Polak (34 tackles) and Junior DB Parker Vance (63 tackles) will help put a stop to the ball!

Come out to The SoCal Honor Bowl to watch two teams that get it and want to support the mission of The Honor Bowl.
